Up until a few years ago, wood floor sanding produced an extensive amount of very fine dust. Because we use Bonekemi sanding machines which are equipped with the latest in dust collection technology, very little dust is produced (approximately 99% less then non-equipped machines).
Dust containment sanding systems are both new and innovative solution to the problem of traditional floor sandinng. Dust bags attached to sanders don't work so the industry has moved away from them.Without a bag, sanders can breathe easy. There is no back pressure and dust is picked up at the floor very well. Of course, without something on the exhaust the dust would just blow all over.
The dust that is separated into the bottom cup is carried away by a small but powerful vacuum pump through a compact d diameter hose. The pump can run a drum sander and an edger simultaneously. The dust is continually carried away as it is created and separated. The pump has a large drum with a plastic bag to collect the dust.
The drum uses another small cyclone to drop the dust into the plastic bag. The airstream continues through the pump and through a last filter that removes any fine dust from the air used to convey the dust off the sander.
